How do you feel about dying?
But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him.”
–1 Corinthians 2:9
An old man was lying in his bed, sick and dying. His family came in to visit one afternoon, and his little 5-year-old grandson, David, jumped up on the bed with him. He said, “Grandpa, what’s it like to get ready to die?”
His parents recoiled in horror. “Davy!” they scolded, “We don’t say things like that!”
The old grandfather chucked in a raspy voice and said, “It’s okay.” Turning to his grandson he laughed, “It’s a lot like being a little boy on Christmas Eve. I know I’ll be living with Jesus soon, and that’s better than any Christmas present I could ever get!”
At the end of the book of Revelation, God gave the apostle John a magnificent vision of heaven, the invisible world that lies beyond death for all who’ve trusted their lives to Jesus Christ. And if we could really see today with our own eyes what John was shown in his vision, we wouldn’t worry about life after death.
The day you get to heaven will be your best day ever. You won’t be in heaven five minutes before you say, “Now I get it!” So as your life here on earth grows closer to its end, hold fast to the promise that when the unseen becomes seen and all your questions find their answers, then you’ll know what life is really all about!
TRUST IN GOD’S PROMISES FOR THE LIFE TO COME AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY WHEN YOUR FAITH WILL BECOME SIGHT!
