“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’”

—Mark 9:23

There was an American astronaut who walked on the moon.  Can you imagine walking on the lunar surface and hitting golf balls there and investigating and inquiring as to the surface? He literally walked on the moon.

And yet this particular astronaut that I'm thinking of, when he came back down to earth, he was never able to really walk effectively on earth. He became an alcoholic. His family was broken apart. And while he walked on the moon and scaled the heights of human glory, he was never able to translate it to a daily way of life.

For some of us we would have to admit that we've not yet been able to connect our faith, what we believe to how we live every day. If we are going to be able to function in the day to day battles of life and of living, then we are going to have to be able to take our faith from the mountaintops and into the marketplace, and into the mission field.

Faith is not just for the saints in church. It's for the saints in the streets and the saints in the marketplace. And it's to be translated and transferred into the realities of a real world all around us.

And whether you know it or not, you need faith.  You need faith to believe in God every day in your life.  You may think you've got it all together.  You may think you're strong enough and powerful enough and good enough to make it on your own, but you're not.

IT'S IN FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST THAT WE ARE ENABLED TO ACCOMPLISH THINGS WE NEVER DREAMED POSSIBLE.
