One day, a woodpecker was pecking at a telephone pole, just hammering away on the wood when right about that time a big bolt of lightning crashed down and split that telephone pole right down the middle.
How to view your earthly obligations
By Dr. Jack Graham | October 30, 2019
I heard about a fellow who wrote the IRS one day and said, “I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately and I think it’s because I haven’t paid my taxes. So enclosed with this letter is a check for $200.” Then, at the bottom of his letter, he wrote, “P.S., If I still can’t sleep tomorrow night, I’ll send you the rest of what I owe.”

Did you know that each and every one of us will give an account of our lives to a holy God one day? It’s true. That’s why it’s worth thinking about the kind of life you’re leading.
God has a hold on you
By Dr. Jack Graham | August 16, 2019
The Christian life isn’t just a matter of you and me holding on and hoping for the best. No, the Christian life is actually about God holding you and me in his grip, and us trusting him to not let go.
Are you being unfaithful to God?
By Dr. Jack Graham | July 11, 2019
A lot of people misinterpret the Scripture when it says that God is a jealous God. Because we tend to think of jealousy as an ugly thing. But jealousy can actually be a very beautiful thing.

God has called you not to just make a living, but to make a life. God has called you not to just take up space in this world, but to make our world a better place in which to live!
Understanding the cost of being a follower of Christ
By Dr. Jack Graham | May 20, 2019
One thing that I firmly believe and always share with others is that salvation is a free gift of God and is accomplished on our part only by trusting in Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. But there’s a difference between accepting the free gift of grace and what I call ‘easy believe-ism’.
How to follow the Golden Rule
By Dr. Jack Graham | May 16, 2019
I read a survey a few years back where people were asked to name their favorite saying of Jesus. One of the most popular answers was “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Now, that’s a pretty good paraphrasing of Jesus’ teaching here, commonly referred to as the ‘Golden Rule’.
What is Life All About?
By Dr. Jack Graham | May 8, 2019
What is the meaning of life? That's a big question today. For some life is simply a void. For others life is a vexation; they're miserable. For others, life is a vacation.
Making the Most of Every Day
By Dr. Jack Graham | February 26, 2019
Time is passing. I don’t know about you, but because of the rush of our days, it seems like it’s moving faster than ever before. And here’s the thing about playing the game of life: you can’t call time out! You can’t really drop out.
Can God count on you?

Do you ever think about your significance to God? You and I are very important to him! Across the centuries, the followers of Jesus Christ have been his hands and face to the world.
New Life Resolutions
By Dr. Jack Graham | January 1, 2019
What does it mean to be totally alive? How would you describe “living large”? Paul said in Philippians that the purpose and passion of life should be to live every moment as Christ would live it…to magnify Jesus Christ.
Where you can find ultimate satisfaction
By Dr. Jack Graham | November 5, 2018
In the 1960s, a song was written for recording artist Peggy Lee entitled, “Is That All There Is?” In it, Lee presents a very bleak outlook on the world. She’s become disenfranchised with everything and asks the question, “Is that all there is?”
How your kindness can change everything
By Dr. Jack Graham | October 31, 2018
Several years ago, I was preaching one morning on today’s Scripture, and we had a big hiccup in our sound system. The microphone was popping, squealing, and screeching. Needless to say, I was very frustrated with the whole situation.
What it means to live your new life
By Dr. Jack Graham | October 30, 2018
One of my very favorite stories from the Scriptures is the story of Jesus’ good friend Lazarus. Lazarus was sick. Jesus found out, but waited until four days after he died to come. Upon arriving, Jesus ordered that the stone be removed from the tomb and raised Lazarus from the dead.
How you can become more like Jesus
By Dr. Jack Graham | October 29, 2018
There was a 7th grade Sunday school teacher who told me about a time when she was working with boys one Sunday morning. One in particular was really cutting up quite a bit. He wouldn’t stay in his seat, wasn’t listening to the teacher, and was disrupting the whole class.
Obeying God's call to active living
By Dr. Jack Graham | August 20, 2018
I heard about a passive Quaker who had a cantankerous milk cow. And every time he tried to milk that cow, the cow gave him trouble. So on one particular morning, he was trying to get milk and the cow kicked over the milk bucket and spilled it all over the Quaker!
